Four or eight monitors? Neither is the limit.

When Project Magenta was in its infancy, we needed a lot of PCs, but that was 27 years ago. For a recent PC with good hardware, running everything on one is a viable option. But you have a choice.

One graphics card drives four screens. A workstation card drives six. Add a second card and you pass eight. Windows 11 does not stop you.

With Project Magenta Brain, it no longer matters which PC a panel is plugged into.

Every PC, one Brain: Brain on its own PC, the others connect over the network

The CDU gets “EXEC pressed” and sends back its screen. Any panel, any port. Restart the CDU and the panel does not notice.

An overhead switch becomes a value every program sees. pmSystems still decides what the aircraft does. The lamp lights on every display that needs it.

Hardware goes where the cables reach. On a second PC, Brain runs as a deck and finds the main Brain by itself. Nothing to type.

Three PCs, one Brain: the simulator, the captain side with pmSystems, the first officer side with the instructor station

A throttle or a yoke is calibrated once, in Brain, by its serial number. Every program gets the same clean value.

All of it passes through one place. What does that place look like inside?

To be continued.
