pmGetWeather builds the weather radar picture the glass cockpits show on the ND. Over the years every source it relied on went off the air, one after the other. Build 55 fixes that, and uses better data than before.
Where Meteosat covers the aircraft – Europe, Africa, the Atlantic, the Middle East, India and south-east Asia – the picture now comes from EUMETSAT’s precipitation rate. Rain, not cloud, which is what a weather radar shows. Everywhere else it falls back to EUMETSAT’s world infrared picture.
No key, no account. METAR requests from the CDU and MCDU work again. ActiveSky still comes first if you run it, and a new box lets you ignore it without clearing the path. The window has the Windows 11 look of our other current programs, and shows the picture it has just built.
Build 55 is on the update page, in Your Updates.
