… and FlightGear.

In the Your Software Updates section of this website, customers will find a pre-release of pmWideClient, Project Magenta’s own network client.

It connects to FSX, Prepar3D V5 and V6, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, X-Plane 11 and 12 and FlightGear, effortlessly and transparently. It provides an FSUIPC layer with converted offsets to any connected software. Not just Project Magenta.

It can connect both locally and via the network, so the simulator can be on the same PC or on another one. The first time you start it, it asks whether it may look for simulators on your network, shows you what it found and lets you pick the one you want. That choice is remembered, and Scan Network looks again whenever you want to switch. If the simulator restarts or loads a new flight, the programs stay connected and carry on when it is back.

Unzip it anywhere and run it, there is no installer. For FlightGear, copy the small protocol file from the zip into FlightGear first; the included manual shows where.

Why FlightGear? It is very popular with universities, because of MATLAB and Simulink.

As always, feedback is very welcome. This is a limited release for the time being, it will be made available to all in the near future.
