Robert Kossakowski has released PMWinWingBridge, an open-source bridge that connects WinWing PFP-3N CDU hardware to the Project Magenta CDU.
It works through the CDU’s existing Engravity serial interface, so nothing in Project Magenta has to be changed: key input, display output and the annunciator LEDs all run over the interface that is already there. USB and serial reconnection are automatic, and more than one physical unit can be driven at the same time, for Captain, First Officer and Observer stations.
The project is written in C# on .NET 8 and published under the BSD 3-Clause licence.
The WinWing hardware communication is built on the open-source mcdu-dotnet library from the CDUHUB project, which Robert credits together with its copyright and licence.
