The communications DLL that connects our programs to the simulator had not been refreshed for about five years. Now it has been, and it has a single new name: pm.dll.
Until now the same DLL travelled under a different name for almost every program: pfd.dll, mcp.dll, cdu.dll, fcu.dll, abpfd.dll, pmsystems.dll, pmsounds.dll and so on. From now on there is one universal file for every Project Magenta program we release. The Boeing and Airbus Glass Cockpits, MCP, FCU, CDU and MCDU, pmSystems, pmSounds, pmFBW, the Instructor Station, the A220 and the GA Glass Cockpit NX already use it. The CRJ programs follow with their next builds.
It is backwards compatible. Everything the older DLLs contained is in the new one, so it can replace an older copy without changing anything else.
Download pm.dll from Your Software Updates (Utilities Updates) and copy it into the program’s folder, beside the program. If an updated program cannot find pm.dll, that is the file it is missing.
