If you are experiencing problems with flight plan displays on the ND or delays and other strange networking related issues, this could be due to the Windows File Indexing Service. To check whether it is on or off, right-click on the hard drives used in the simulator and then select Properties.
This option is used to optimise searches and can be especially time consuming when Windows Live Search is also installed on that computer.
Make sure the “Allow File Indexing…” option at the bottom of the window is unchecked or off in services.msc. This service is not needed in a simulator environment.
pmFileCheck Build 64 will check whether this service is running and will report switching it off if necessary. (uploaded May 13th 2011)
