About
When development of the Project Magenta software started in 1998, OpenGL was chosen as a graphics generating interface rather than DirectX, for development speed and graphics quality reasons.

Whenever you get a Windows error message with an offending component containing the text 'ogl.dll' (e.g. ati32ogl.dll) it means the driver files may not be compatible. If you get the error message 'overflow' in most cases it is also driver related and you may have to switch off some of the options in the INI files in the [OpenGL] Section.
Some drivers only support the OpenGL commands for high FPS games, which is not enough for our software.
Recommended Graphics Drivers
- nVidia 44.03 drivers for the TNT, TNT2, GeForce 2, 3 and 4
- nVidia 66.93 drivers for the FX series
- ATI Radeon 5.6 drivers
Lower Quality
Intel Graphics Cards
Incompatibilities

Features
FMC OpenGL
With the current versions of the Airbus-Type MCDU and the Boeing-Type CDU we have implemented OpenGL text graphics positioning which allow for a much closer look and feel of the various FMC pages.
The displays (both in full screen and bitmap mode) will now have 24 columns and 14 lines like the real ones (as opposed to variable length as it was before). Backward-compatibility will of course be ensured should your graphics card not be able to handle the change. To activate the modes you can:
- edit the INI file ([OpenGL Section]) - press Ctrl-O to toggle OpenGL in the normal and Ctrl-Shift-O in Full Screen Mode - the width, ratio, fontsize can be controlled via a Menu, keyboard commands or the INI file (see the XXXChanges.txt files for instructions)
